Industry Veteran Dan Carter Passes Away

Sympathies extended for Colts Plastics VP of sales and marketing

Dan A. Carter, 68, of Cumberland, RI, passed away suddenly Sunday at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He was the husband of Natalie (Howe) Carter.

Born in Passaic, NJ, he was the son of the late Sam and Agnes (Ricci) Carter. He resided in Cumberland for the past 22 years, previously residing in New Jersey.

He was a decorated United States Marine Corps Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Carter was employed as the Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for Colts Plastics of Dayville, CT, previously employed by Tech Industries, and Portola Tech Plastics of Woonsocket and Cumberland.

He was known as a hard worker, avid traveler, loved to read, and also enjoyed a single malt scotch.

Besides his wife, he leaves three daughters, Danielle Ford of Millville, NJ, Christine Carter of Cumberland, RI, Courtney Fontaine of Pfafftown, NC, and eight grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be held Friday at 10am from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland, RI. Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in the Historic St. Joseph Church, Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 8pm.
